Good news about this Forum is LOTS of information, so of course the down side is the needle in the haystack analogy. It this is already available in a previous post/thread would welcome and appreciate a pointer.
I am looking for a detailed description of the Drive Modes (Engage/Unbridled/Whisper), more than just the 2-3 sentences in the owner manual...so the more technical the better; especially in how each functions relates to regen.
ie, over many years of driving I have become a "coaster". With "city" driving I watch the traffic and lights ahead of me with the goal of minimizing the amount of braking I will require to maximize my MPG.
Whisper, without 1PD, seems to work best for me as it allows what seems to be "complete coasting", while the others slow the vehicle down faster than I normally would.
However am I losing on regen possibilities...or does the regen when I do brake provide the same benefits?
As an engineer I know any additional functions will not be 100% efficient (ie, regen as a power saver will never be as efficient as coasting with no/minimal braking), so not looking for "theories", but what actual data (or data ranges) is published for what these actually do.
A variation to this would be how each drive mode relates to Blue Cruise/Adaptive Cruise. I have AC set to medium, and BC on ~90% of the time (wife says it is a better driver than I am
What is the affect (if any) on drive mode given these.
Vehicle is a California Route 1, not a GT (if that matters).
TIA for any help.
