First time owning a car with Android Auto(AA). Is anyone facing this issue, or know of a solution?
I usually use AA for maps and Spotify just fine. When I play any other audio from the phone when AA is connected, like audio recordings, there is no audio controls like play/pause.
When I click on the Media app my phone is there but greyed out.
When I disconnect AA I can see the controls.
Is it possible to get the controls when AA is connected?

I believe the only way to stream audio using AA is if you're using an AA supported app (eg Spotify), otherwise you need to use Bluetooth audio and the sync 4 media app.

Oh ok, thank you, upon further research, found out it's AA limitation where the Bluetooth controls API is restricted. Hopefully they will allow it.

What phone do you have? I have a Samsung and use Samsung Music. Just about any media on your phone will play on Samsung Music and will be on AA. You may be able to install the Samsung Music app on other phones as well. I believe I used Poweramp previously for local media on Android Auto.
