I ordered a "pre-ordered" Mach-e on Feb 14. On Feb 16 I recie1ved the VIN number.
On Thursday last week I was notified that the car was in production. On Saturday I was able to see
the window sticker for the first time and the MSRP on the sticker was 2500 more then on my sales order.
When the car is delivered, will I have to pay the additional 2500?

You should have price protection. I would query the dealer about it in advance so there are no surprises when you pick up the car.

Ask your dealer for the DORA sheet - it will show the original price.

Depending on when the order was placed, you should be price protected.

My long overdue MME is from 2022 and I get the re-order date price protection (4.49%, $2k), and the '22 pricing on my '23. Dealer will use SmartVINcent to determine the price protection since it's been invoiced and in transit.

Ask your dealer so that there are no surprises, and so that if there is something they can do about it, they have the time to do it in advance.

My story is that my dealer added markup in the months while I was waiting for the car. I saw it online and called them on it. They initially said that Ford was allowing it (that was back when Ford initially forbid dealer markup on online orders, and then eased up... but now it's not allowed anymore), but I had an email from the dealership saying that there was no markup on online orders and therefore recommended I order online. They said they'd honor that email. However, there was a price increase from Ford that I was supposed to be price protected on, and neither the dealership nor Ford's regional representative could figure that one out, despite other people on here getting it (usually in the form of a check being mailed after the sale - so you'd lose out on taxes, but still get some of the money back). By then I had waited so long (close to a year), and had already dodged once price increase, so I ate the cost increase that I shouldn't have had to and moved on. At least I wasn't surprised and didn't waste time at the dealership over it.
