Who are we kidding, a Corvette crossover like that would sell like hotcakes. The Urus doubled Lamborghini's sales figures since it came out.

I see you own a Corvette Z51. If a different body style vehicle was introduced as a Corvette, what would your reaction be? You likely have seen this rendering. It looks attractive. I could forsee very similar reactions by long-time Corvette owners as we see with this vehicle if someone identified this as new Corvette variant.

Rumors of a Corvette SUV/CUV are out the and GM of course won't comment except to say Corvette has strong brand identity

The 'Stang badge was one of the deciding factors for me to buy a MachE. I never owned an ICE Mustang but in the '70s and '80s rode in and sometimes drove plenty of them, mostly stick.
1971 Mach 1 was my favorite to be seen in.
Driving a 1986 (?) 5.0 scared me a little bit.
My friend's Mustang II had the horn on the turn signal stalk - weird.

Mustang II's did not have the horn on the turn signal stalk; the horn on a Mustang II is in the steering wheel center. With respect to Mustangs, Ford transitioned the horn to the turn signal stalk on the 1979 Fox body Mustang.
