So my 2021 Mach-E premium met an unfortunate end due to a large piece of metal (part of a truck drivetrain) that was in the middle of an exit ramp. I saw the obstruction briefly as i rounded the tight turn of the ramp but there was no way to go around it safely, and I had someone on my tail. So I hoped it was plastic or paper. Alas it was metal, and it gutted the underside of the car including the battery box. I was shaken, the dash lights lit up like 4th of July, but no one was hurt. I pulled over to the side at the bottom of the ramp. Ford Roadside Assistance came in 15 minutes and towed it to a local dealer. It was declared a total loss; RIP the best car I've ever had.
Of course, I went out and bought a 2025 Mach-E premium with extended battery.
My late father always talked about wanting to be reincarnated as a bird. I say this because when I drove the new car home, parked and plugged it in, this happened:
And yes, my dad was a Ford guy and his favorite color was blue.
