I noticed that my MachE disarms or turns the brake lights on and makes clicking sounds when I come close to it. I am wondering how it is doing that.
I have not enabled PAAK. I don't have my car keys at that time. The only possibility is that I have my phone with me, which can connect to carplay when the vehicle is turned on, but the vehicle is not turned on. And carplay should not make the car do the click sounds or turn light on. Any ideas?

I believe BT from your phone will still wake it up. It could be different behavior if it's locked and ~30 minutes have passed since you locked it. Mine does it all the time. So much so that when it doesn't I start messing around trying to make it click and clack.
The phone uses BT first, then CP if possible (once the car is running). The phones BT is constantly broadcasting so it's known to the car when near.

The motion sensors that are part of the security system are detecting you near the car. It's normal to hear there relays clicking in that situation.

The lights should only light up if you come near the car with your key fob or phone with PAAK setup.

If you have your phone set up on the car you can unlock from the app if you're in proximity. You can turn off the "Welcoming lights" in the Settings (I personally like them but for some people they can represent a security concern).

I, too, have heard the noises so I know what you're talking about but I haven't the foggiest idea what they are.

I interpret as my MME being excited to see me. I do tend to leave my key in the house if I'm going to be cleaning up in the garage, otherwise it's constant clicking.

Soon after getting my MME my partner and I went to the store, she decided to stay in the vehicle while. When I got out I found her standing outside the MME. I asked what happened and she said "It's possessed!" and she told me about all the noises it was making. I actually came here and confirmed it and assured her it was safe ?

With updates, the car asks you now if you want the sensors turned off or on. If someone is going to stay in the car, or if you are on a ferry choose 'off'.

The time to be really worried is if the frunk unlocks and rises up as well.

Number one I would enable PAAK. It really does make the ownership experience so much nicer being able to precondition the car while it’s on a charger, and set a schedule for it to precondition on any given day at any given time.

There are some bugs in the app, and on one occasion, the car did not recognize PAAK. Restarting the app (iPhone) fix the problem.
