The problem is usually the opposite.
People try to turn it off and it keeps turning back on.
I learned to just ignore the occasional dings when it is generally predicting traffic along the predicted route.

Yeah that is opposite. Maybe you come trade cars with someone that can't get it to stick when they disable it
