Just completed first long drive from Phoenix to N California. GreAt car on the road, no major issues, no charging issues, but one bit of weirdness with the navigation system. In the LA area we were cruising along on highway 14 through Palmdale when the nav system wanted us to exit and take a 30 mile loop back the way we had just come. We knew enough to ignore this error and it eventually corrected itself. It did the same on I5 around Lebec for some reason. No idea why this weirdness occurred. If we had followed navigation guidance we would have gone a long way out of our way.

Talking about navigation and weirdness... Yesterday there was no GPS signal in MME nor in my connected phone. I was about to blame Chinese space program, but thankfully Waze on my wife's phone worked. There was a heavy rain and low clouds, but it's not a first rain and I don't remember any issues with GPS signal.

What I can tell you is that the maps in the Sync 4 navigation are NOT up-to-date. Seems some areas are out of date by years even. All of that and Ford advertises it as having up-to-date maps.

I've always found it funny that Google maps are free and about the best out there while all of the car navigation systems that you need to pay for (after free 3 year sub runs out at least) are generally out of date and way behind Google.

I really wish more cars would just directly integrate Google like the Hummer EV and Polestar.
Whats funny and unfortunate for us early MME adopters is that Ford started a partnership with Google at the start of this year but isnt integrating Google into its cars until 2023

I avoid the navigation weirdness by using Apple Maps with CarPlay.
I've been doing the same but it would be nice to have a single app that was good at navigating like Google maps AND did good EV route planning like ABRP. The built in Nav app can do that to some degree but its not the best at either of those things and it's not a great idea to have to be switching back and forth between the other apps when you are on the road.

I like using the built in nav mainly for the information on the drivers screen showing next turn, and the miles to next charge stop info. Very useful most of the time. Just a few strange glitches. I’m smart enough to work around these in order to get the functions I like. Maybe CarPlay will eventually offer this, but neither Google nap Apple Maps nor Waze work correctly in my car. on the car screen they show the heading of the vehicle 90degrees rotated right no matter what I do. Useless. Ford Nav for me.

By the way, just got home after 1600 mile round trip from Phoenix to SF Bay Area and back. Saw more Teslas than I could count and several BMW, Kia and VW electrics. Not a single other MME that I noticed.

Oh, and forgot to mention one Porsche Taycan that was nearly the same color as my Infinite Blue MME pulled up next to me to charge at an EA station. By the way, none of the EA stations I tried showed any issues, all stations were available, and it recognized the car as "plug to charge" each time. Also charged once using Charge Point, and it was no muss no fuss as well.
