April 17th, we took ownership of our 2026 Electric AWD Mustang. We originally were in the market for a Hybrid type vehicle, however as we moved along in our vehicle replacement shopping it became quite clear that the cost and ownership advantage for our retired lifestyle was better suited to replacing our ICE vehicle with a full electric vehicle.
Two months later with 3500 kms put on the vehicle, I am now convinced that we made the right decision. We did install a Level 2 charger at home and this has led to a total cost of under $30 for charging. The Level 2 charger installation will pay itself in two months.
