Picked up my new GT a couple of weeks ago from Twin Pine Ford in Ephrata PA. The car was the spec I wanted (Star White, pano roof, and performance Upgrade, and although not reflected on the sticker, I also got the interior protection package and mobile charger. Bonus!), and the price made it worth my while to travel from home for the purchase. I coordinated my pick up with a conference I attended in DC, so drove from PA to DC, and then DC to home making for a great introduction to the car. Just got the car back from installation of front bumper PPF and a ceramic coating with IGL Kenzo. Loving the car so far.

I have a cyber orange GT and my wife has a 24 black rally. My car drives like a 1960’s muscle car where hers drives like a Ferrari. Hers is smooth over pot hold etc where mine throws you around. The fog lights and that little height is a world of difference and the seats are way more comfortable. If you put the car in rally mode the entire dashboard changes. It has orange arrows that as you go faster they get brighter. You honestly have to seriously hold on because it is like trying to ride a wild stallion. Entering on the freeway you can go from zero to 100 without realizing. It throws you back into the back of your seat so having the shoulder bolsters is REALLY an event. I am truly jealous. Plus it gets more miles than mine.

Magnaride and no 5-sec limit for the win :)
Magneride™ is great. Personally I don't feel like I'm being thrown around in my GT-PE and that the car is too soft and imprecise. That's just me though. ??

IIRC the 2024+ cars got an extended limit. It's beyond the time it would take to run the quarter, so something above 11.5 seconds. That's a lot better than our stupid 5 (or less) second limit. I'm sure there are mitigating factors to the 2024+ performance limiter as well as with our older cars (how much have you been hammering it recently, how fast you are currently traveling, etc.). ??

You know it's not just you as we've talked about this before. I also feel the car is too soft and imprecise. We may be the only two here that think this.

Mark, when you added the Eibach progressive springs, did that make your GTPE even softer? And was that a bad thing? Or maybe we're talking about two different kinds of softness?

Yes Phil adding the Eibach GT Progressive springs makes the car ride smoother on normal roads with only small bumps because the spring rate is less than OEM when not being compressed. That is a good thing. However when pushing the car in the corners, the more you compress the spring, the stiffer it becomes and these GT progressive springs have a higher rate at the compressed end, almost 100 lbs than stock so the car handles better than OEM. You can get the best of both worlds with progressive springs.

That said, I feel the springs need to be even stiffer on the compressed end and the shocks need way more dampening. Adding the sway bars helped greatly but I would also like stiffer springs and shocks. Then there is the steering which is over assisted and has no feel at all. I get that this is not a muscle or sports car but I would like it to be a bit more sporty. For most people this car rides way too firm and they love the handling. I feel the car rides way too soft and the handling after I installed the springs, bars and wider wheels with wider sticky summer performance tires is just acceptable for me and I think Steve too.

Sounds like softness on turns/corners is the concern for you guys, and softness on potholes/bumps is a different (though related) issue. Thank you for patiently explaining!

Congrats on the new whip! She's purdy.?

Star White was originally on my short list. I think the MME looks especially good in white with the contrasting black trim.

If I were buying today, my choice would either be Star White or Eruption Green Metallic with Bronze Package.?
