I’ve been on the sidelines of this forum for quite a while, amazed at all the great information and experiences shared. Having just taken delivery of a GT (pics below), I figured I may finally have something to contribute here.
Some vitals that seems to be of interest:
All in all, quite satisfied thus far with the mechanical/hardware aspects of the vehicle. The software, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. The communications between the FordPass app, web site and the vehicle is confusing and it is not at all clear how long to expect for changes to make it from one to the other. However, I do think that the changes required to make the software significantly better are not all that heavy a lift, so, I’m hopeful that we will see major improvements in the near future. [I’m an engineer in the tech world and have managed multi-disciplinary teams for decades, so, I have some context and experience to make this judgement.]

- Excellent experience working through the entire process with Patrick at Watertown Ford (watertownford.com).
- From the 9/18/21 to 10/19/21, the Ford vehicle tracking site showed delivery dates jumping around, including at one point, “Unknown”.
- Drove the vehicle straight from the dealership to AVI Boston (aviboston.com), in Newton, MA) for full-vehicle PPF wrap and Ceramic Pro coating. Basel and Safi were great to work with through the process.
- I had been wavering on two white stripes over the hood and back, but, wasn’t completely sold on it given the break due to the panoramic roof. Then I saw @Rafgar’s post and really liked the side stripes. So, I ordered on eBay from a company that was listed as being in Canada, but, the product seems to have come from Lithuania. Regardless, they were great about getting it to AVI as promised, essentially over the weekend!
- Picked up the car on Friday, 10/29, (out of town on business trip in the interim) and did a 200 mile trip the following day on Saturday. Unfortunately, heavy rain day, so, didn’t really push it hard. Mostly drove in Whisper mode and a little bit in Engage.
- One thing that I did note is that the brake is stiffer than any vehicle (BMW, Land Rover, Lexus, among others) I’ve owned. Am trying to figure out what’s up with this.
- I have configured PaaK on my phone, but, have not relied on it much yet. Given the varied experiences reported in the forum, I’m not in a rush to try it out.
- Have a ChargePoint L2 charger in hand. Waiting for electrician to install. Hopefully this upcoming week!
