Got in the car this morning, all systems seemed normal. As I pulled out of the garage my son asked why I was in Engage. I was surprised, because I wasn't (at least, not intentionally). I was then shocked when he pointed out that the background for the parking sensor toggle was blue instead of the usual brown, and that meant it was in Engage. I don't know that I've ever seen him quite that aware of his surroundings...

Anyway, it was randomly in Engage, under my profile. Pressing Unbridled switched the throttle mapping for the barest of moments but then it went back to Engage. I switched to Guest profile, it stayed stuck in Engage. I switched back to my profile and tried switching to Whisper- it went, no problem, and stayed. I switched back to Engage, no issue. Unbridled- no issue, it stayed there. Drove for an hour, no problem. got back in the car 3 hours later, no issue.

I did notice the blue background last week, maybe a couple of times, but I hadn't related it to any drive mode. Needed a 12 year old for that, I guess.

Is this a new feature they've added, or just not-quite-a-fix for DMU?

SO I have seen this quirk where it has the unbridled background (orange graphics), but is in Engage (with a few blue accents). I quickly select Whisper then back to Unbridled and is fine. It is weird, but does not at least give me the drive mode not available.

I had this happen the other day too. Had to do the same fix. Put it in whisper in order to get it to go back to unbridle.

I had something like that happen a while back and today I had the same thing. Though I was parked so didn’t test the throttle mapping. Switching to whisper seemed to resolve the issue and let me switch to unbridled.

With all the OTAs going out the 12v is getting low which can cause some quirks at startup. This is just an artifact of that low 12v

Notice if your brake pedal feels stiff on startup sometimes. When it does that's when this bug manifests for me. The driver console (IPC) will flash the wrong color for a moment before going back to the mode you should be in. But the center screen gets confused and stays in the wrong mode.

Nothing to do with 12v in my case as my 12v is usually above 80%.

Edit: There was a mention of this in Jan https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/new-variation-of-drive-mode-not-available.33209/

Happened to me again while driving home. I tried again to put it in Unbridle, but kept going back to Engage. This time I left it to see if it will be this way tomorrow. A new discovery though. The IPC shows Unbridle graphics. On PowerUp 6.60.
