New perspective on software updates after using FDRS

So after applying all available updates I have a new respect on why Ford wants to avoid this situation, I think if I was a professional and had to actually attempt to deal with all the DTC's and oddities generated by the process I would not want to do this either, absolutely unsustainable.

I no longer hold this against them. I've also always gotten all the important OTA's so my ownership has been fairly painless, but as we've seen has a lot of room for improvement.

I think going after ford to improve the OTA process is the path forward, not the manual application of updates.

No argument that the OTA process can be better. However, tedious as it may be, the fact that we have the option of being able to do it ourselves (and not exclusively at the dealer level) is great.

I have no problem with doing it (our)myself, sorry if that is not clear, I have zero expectations unless I have a problem for Ford to do it for me and if so to do as little manual updating as needed to address a reasonable concern.
