New Side Markers!

So it took a hot minute, but I finally got around to swapping out the side markers this week. Well, actually only the rears. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to install the fronts as they're not meant to light up anyway.

I do like how they look lit up, but dang are they bright! A bit too bright. I need to live with them a little longer before deciding whether or not to keep them.

Edit: I wonder if tinted overlays would tone down the brightness enough. I may have to place an order for some and give it a try.

I reached the exact same conclusion - too bright. I swapped the OEM lights back the same day. Never considered doing this mod again.

I may try dark tinted overlays to see if it cuts the brightness down to acceptable levels. If not, I'll likely swap back to stock.

Holy hell those are bright! They look way brighter than even the rear brake lights. I may just tint my OEM reflectors and call it a day, that much of a mismatch in color and brightness in the rear would drive me nuts. Hopefully adding tinted overlays will work for you.

Just a quick follow-up on this thread as I did this upgrade earlier this year. I'll provide the few pictures I took while doing this upgrade. I ended up going with an "Amazon option" as I wasn't aware the EV-Vida had an option. I don't believe the set I went with is quite as bright as mentioned in the other posts of the EV-Vida's.

After removing the frunk and side plastic pieces, I ran a small wire up from the front clip hole and was easily able to spot and grab it in the front. Then taped the wires from the front side markers and pulled them up and through.

Once the frunk bolts are removed, it's pretty easy to pull the plastic side covers off.
I used the volt meter to test wires at the headlights for tapping into the parking lights like when the rear markers light up, but was unable to find that. Looks like that's also why EV-Vida provides the plug and play and still states that front markers will only come on with headlights. I may end up running a patch wire from the BCM connector for parking lights positive, or from the rears as was mentioned in another post.
