Sometime over the winter, I decided PAAK wasn't consistent enough for my liking so I deleted it and started using one of my fobs.

Since then, I've forgotten my fob at home two times, including today. Funny thing is, both times I was able to start the car, drive to work and drive home with no fob and no problems. No warning messages, no nothing.

This seems like a huge security issue. It's a bit unsettling to think anyone, anytime could just come along and drive off with my car.

FYI - my spare fob is hanging from a hook approximately 30 feet from where I garage my car at home. That might explain why I'm able to start it at home, but what about when I'm at work?

Looks like you probably deleted the app and reinstalled it. When i did that I had a phantom key. It'd previously been set up in the phone and car. Nuking the app made FP forget it was there but the 'key' the BT connection was still there. When reinstalled the new FP app I went to set up PaaK and it never said a thing about the other PaaK, but the car or Ford sent many an email about the key being removed and a new one added.
I had to do this because Location never worked after sometime in the early 5.0 FP app. The only way to get FP to 'allow location always' was nuke the app and reinstall it. Otherwise my PaaK always had the 'optimize paak' thing.

Interesting. So nuking FP and reinstalling it should resolve the issue?

You'll have a BT connection listed on your phone called ' XXXXX Mach E'. That's the BT Key it's probably also connected. If you want to you can just forget that device and it'll kill the key in your phone.

Are you sure you don't have a fob hidden inside your car? They can still work without a battery if they're close enough to an antenna.

I used to keep one there in a faraday case, just in case PaaK acted up. I took it out when I started exclusively using a fob.
