Is there a way to set a departure time for a single event in the app or in the car? I work from home, but when I have plans, I would love to schedule the car to be ready. Anyone find a way to make that possible?

Sadly there is not. Your only option is to schedule it in FordPass (or in the car) and then turn off the schedule when you're done. (Yeah, that's really lame.)

thanks. I’ll give that a try and see how it goes. I only need it every once in a while so maybe it won’t be that bad.

I could also use a one-time departure feature. I wonder if you could build it from the fordpass side by automating the manual steps:
  1. New control to set ā€œone timeā€ to true
  2. Run a background job once a day to look for one time schedules in the past
  3. Delete the one time schedule in the past

That would be cool. I already checked iOS shortcuts app and didn’t see anything to Build from there. Looks like the app only allows access to Lock and Unlock.

It would also be a very big help IF HOME CHARGE PREFERENCE Times could be set at. 00 & 30. Minutes. Our discounted charging times in the UK are 23:30 to 05:30.
As it is now, I have to either lose an hour or pay for an extra hour!

The other thing that FORD hasn’t done, despite talking to over four years, is that they have a ferry setting for the alarm so that the alarm inclination sensors can be turned off, when travelling by Ferry ⛓. Otherwise the alarm will be going off and on the entire journey running the 12v battery down. Or it’s switching off the car alarm leaving it unlocked while the car decks are locked and remembering to re-lock it on arrival.. it’s a must in Europe we have very journeys that are 12 to 18 hours or more!

All other cars usually have this, even my old 2003 Porsche. But to Ford It falls on deaf ears!
DOH Ford. I definitely sell this car in a minute if they haven’t lost more than 60% its value I paid in 2021. It’s amazing people are still buying them.,

Using the departure time schedule in FordPass for a single use departure time wasn't too bad. I set it last night for 7:15am this morning. Everything worked as expected and I was notified that the cabin was ready this morning. Afterwards, I just went into the app and turned off departure times. So now whenever I want to set a time, I just turn it back on in the app and modify the date and time.

If I turn my 23 CA Rt1 4Ex off, the display will ask if I want to turn my alarm of, this does not seem to happen if I open the door right away.

Unfortunately the Alarm Off/On display at shut down is only for interior motion sensors if someone or animal remains still in the car.
It does nothing for the motion / inclination sensors, which trigger if someone tries to jack up or move the car. Which is why most normal European cars for over 20 years have a ā€˜Ferry’ mode for the alarm. Porsche, BMW, Audi., etc Nobody wants to return to the car on the deck with a dead battery requiring a jump. Causes major hold-ups! . Now imagine you have a dead 12 bolt on a MME and can’t even get in the car without finding a jump to opentge front boot(hood) then pulling out panels to get to the 12 V battery to jump it. OMG!
Guess it’s not so important in the US. But really needed in Europe for anyone who wants to travel with their vehicle from the UK to Europe or driving through NORWAY or anywhere where there’s lots of ferries.

I’m even on an overnight ferry tomorrow night from NL back to UK. I just unlock the car with my App after the car deck is sealed on departure while they’re still a mobile signal, and lock it before it’s opened again on arrival. Not ideal but it works.

Years ago, when the Ford Pass Community Forum website was running, I had a long discussion going on this with a lip service moderator named Ikena. It went on for over a year because he said it’s spoken to Ford technical and they were going to take care a Ferry mode solution by a OTA by a specified date -which never happened.. I called him out on a few times, but was ignored. Eventually, Ford shut down the forum in June 24. I miss it though because there was a software developer, Rob, who was in charge of developing releasing OTA’s in Europe He was amazing at being able to help with status of updates being scheduled and would looki up your Vin numbers for those with issues and give information about your vehicle through, and and get solutions for individual owners by PMs. Unfortunately I guess was too much information for Ford..

Nice! I treat if a little bit like my iPhone alarm clocks. I leave them in my app and think maybe I can reuse them.

I was thinking about design parallels and thought about the iPhone alarm clock. There’s a repeat == Never option. It doesn’t clean them out, which is annoyed, but it’s 80% of the way to the experience I want.

I went looking at the shortcuts too, but I couldn’t figure out how to use the API to do what I wanted.

It's a much requested feature. I always feel judged for my lack of stable predictable life when i have to do the dance of creating a schedule and deleting the schedule. Sigh.
