Options, incentive, rate (ordered Jan, picking up in a few weeks)

I spoke with my dealership's GM and he said incentives were not protected - Ford Options is now a $2k rebate (not 2.5k) and the interest rate is whatever it is when we sign.

My understanding is that my order on 1/21 was when option rate was 2.49 and incentive (Calif.) was 2.5k.

Is there any kind of documentation or something I should seek from Ford ahead of time - I'm trying to avoid an unnecessarily bad experience at the dealership when it's time to do the paperwork.

It's my understanding that when they look up the incentives in SmartVincent, they have the option of selecting sale date or protection date, which should be the date you ordered (assuming you're the original date on the order).

I have heard conflicting stories on whether the APR is considered a protected incentive, though.

My understanding is the Ford Options incentives and interest rates (or Ford Credit incentives and interest rates) should be Price Protected as of the date of the order (or the order change, if you changed the order after it was placed initially). You should be able to choose whether to accept the incentives/rates from the order/change date or the delivery date.

Yes, the rates and rebates at date of order are available to be offered but dealer can add to the finance rate.
