Hi all,

I reserved a GT on the day of the reveal, and am finally looking at which dealer to place my order with. Currently I'm associated with AutoNation Ford in Tustin, CA, which is my closest dealer, however I'm thinking about changing to Tuttle Click in Irvine. Another option would be Villa Ford up in Orange. Do any of you have any experiences with any of these dealers?

I asked Tuttle Click about my deposit being refundable once I convert my reservation to an order, and was told that because it takes one of the dealer's GT allotment the deposit would be non-refundable. Does this check out to you guys? Surely they could sell a GT on the lot, right? I was also told that if it's an online order there would be no ADM. Should I get any of this in writing?

Any other things I ought to consider and vet the local dealers before choosing my dealer for my upcoming order?

Thanks.

Most likely, customer special orders (like yours would be) are their ONLY allocation for this car. So the statement has truthiness, but still seems stupid as you said...

Keep checking with local dealers and yes, you must get responses in writing otherwise it's you said they said.

Once online ordering opens, you'll also be able to compare markup at one dealer versus another. Narrow down to the ones with least markup (ideally $0) and then get in writing from them that there won't be any further markup through add ons like nitrogen or tinting, unless you do want those things.

I reserved my GB FE on reveal night with AutoNation Tustin and converted to order as soon as they removed the ADM (it was 5K?!?). The sales group was pretty responsive early on, provided the VIN, checked in with me a couple times, but as my car was delayed due to the stop ship, I wasn't getting much info. When the car came in, it was a fairly smooth process, they hadn't processed a Ford Options financing before and slowed the process a little, but I got the financing I wanted, all of the eligible discounts and rebates, and a very competitive trade in value, so I can't complain about them.

I ordered from David Wilson Villa ford. Will be ready 6-17 Purchased a car Yesterday from Theodore Robins Ford in Costa Mesa. I have been talking with Chris the Internet sales Manager, he Is straight up. I had been tracking a car they had on order since Jan and was what I Wanted. He said I was first up for the car if the client passed on it. Which he did. No ADM and I sprung the X plan on them. No problem !! Did the financing with the sales manager. Took 20 minutes. Great place !!! I talked with The sales manager of Auto nation tustin for a Half hour, Nice guy. No ADM. I would talk with him before changing Dealers.

I ended up placing an order for a GTP with AutoNation in Tustin. I went in to speak with Sean and got in writing that:
* There will be no markup for my order.
* X-plan pricing is honored (provided Ford states that GT models qualify)
* My deposit is refundable

HELP!!!!
Has anyone placed an order with any dealers near Palm Springs area? Or even up to 100 miles from Palm Springs! I would like to get either a California Route 1 in star white, or a RWD Premium with ER in star white, space white, or carbonized grey, with the light grey interior. The dealer nearest me won't reveal what the mark up will be.
I got a call from a dealer in SB, said they could have my vehicle in on 6/1/21, they were getting it from another dealership. Manager was trying to pressure me to submit a credit application through him, even though I told him I have already been pre-approved through Ford and My bank for $50K and will pay cash for balance. Do they get some kind of bonus if you get financing through the dealership? Then when I kept asking him what the final price would be he told me the mark up would be $5800, plus tax and transportation. THAT WOULD BE $58-$59K FOR A CALIFORNIA ROUTE 1!! I told him NO!
Later I spoke with a dealership in Temecula, she was interested in selling me a car IF they get what I want in inventory, but was totally uninterested in my ordering through them. What do they get more $$ if you get it from inventory? She said Ford.com is only taking orders for 2022 models of Mach E. (I'm going to see if this is true) and I would need to go onto Ford.com, build it, designate a dealership and THEN I would find out the price. Is this how other's ordered? How do I find out what the final price is going to be before I pay deposit?
I would, of course, like to get my car as soon as possible, but, I can wait too. I would like to lock the order in with a dealer that is not going to charge $5-6K mark up! If anyone can recommend a dealership they trust I would greatly appreciate it.
I went to another dealership that is on that no mark up list. He said they had a carbonized grey Premium with ER, RWD. When I got there he had a premium without ER. Did he think I would change my mind? I am really starting to hate this process. Wish I could just order direct from Ford.
Second question. In order to get Plan X, do I have to be a member for 3 months BEFORE I place an order? Is the discount worth waiting 3 additional months?

Yes, dealerships make money on financing.
The 90 day X Plan rule is based on taking delivery, not placing an order.
Not in a place where I can break out a CA map, but Robbins Ford has received multiple positive reviews.

I placed an order at Ford Tustin automation and Sean honored the initial msrp price. Communication can be tough with this dealer but once the car comes in, it’s a smooth process. Make sure the account manager is there, otherwise you’ll get a fairly new employee that does not have experience working with Ford options.
