Hi all

I am based in the UK and looking at the Standard Range RWD Mach E for my wife.

Over here we cannot order the Mach E via dealers it's only through Ford directly via their website.

I placed an order last week which is confirmed and states estimated availability 20-23 weeks. However I have noticed that if I go on the website today and place a new order the estimated availability is now 14-16 weeks!

Anyone who now's how Ford build allocation etc work is it worth me cancelling my original order and placing a new one? Or as availability improves should my original order get pushed early too?

You might like to call the Ford Mach-e Customer service line which is on their web site, I think option 3. I believe they are making certain models first so you might find SR RWD are planned down the line a little. I think Tesla did the same with their standard range, but that's just a guess. If the service line is busy they will call you back with an answer but it takes a little time.

There is a lot of chat on this in the UK customers thread, however it’s one long thread with many topics covered... but it’s looking like new ER RWD orders will have a 14-16 week timeline, as they’re the most popular variant ordered in the UK. ER AWD is the least popular and as a result has moved to the back of the line with a 20-23 week wait. Apparently this is because the plant in Mexico is batch build and they’re unable to start a run unless they have a minimum of 30 vehicles of the same configuration. IE: RHD ER AWD... we are the only RHD configured cars for now. So I’d assume the website is quoting best case numbers, but your 20-23 week wait is probably because the SR RWD is in less demand than the ER RWD, and is a new order... so you’re probably either waiting for a few more of the same configurations to do another batch, as I would suspect the first batch has already been built. A speculative presumption, for sure, but the batch build needing a min of 30 has been confirmed and makes sense in so far as the ER AWD and the UKs plug in car grant.

It disgusts me to see comments like this, I ordered my FE over a year ago and orders placed today will arrive at the same time see earlier in their garage,"

It's just odd that my SR RWD in space white order from last week still says estimated delivery in 20-23 weeks but if I start a new order today same spec and same colour and same dealer it now quotes estimated 14-16 weeks.

I called the number above and had a phone call back from "Ryan". I asked if I should cancel my 20-23 week order and place a new "14-16 week" order. He mentioned that regardless of what the website quotes there will be a "queue" so that older orders for the same spec will be processed first and me cancelling my order now and placing a new one would definitely put me later in the queue as there may have been more orders since my order last week.
