10 days after buying a 2023 Mustang Mach-E Select I got the dreaded Service Vehicle Soon/Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power/High-Voltage Battery Warning festival of lights. Took it in to the local Ford service center who said the code came back for the HVBJB issue. I was told the part would have to be on order and I could still drive the car, I just couldn't charge it.

I explained I can charge at home just fine and I was told I was the 1%. Fast forward two weeks later to Labor Day weekend and I was told the part was in, but their Mach-E loaner was still out (a month later it was still out). Finally I gave up a 10 days later and dropped the car off and took a Ford Escape (I hate it!).

Two days ago I go to pick up my car and I was told they replaced the HVBJB but as soon as they drove it out of the bay it threw another service light. The next day I went back (they NEVER call me like they say they will) and I was told the code it has now is "P0ADE Hybrid Battery Circuit Range". I am not sure what that is and neither are they. I was told they notified "headquarters" and are waiting for a response.

Anybody have this same issue? It sucks, but I feel like I have to do my own research to advise the service center what to do to fix my car. I'm saving my gas receipts hoping to get reimbursed (Central Coast of California is just under $6.00 a gallon for regular). I'm also seriously thinking about filing a "lemon law" claim, but wonder if should go for a replacement or complete refund, and what I could actually get refunded such as tax, title, Ford Protect, and the ceramic coating I got put on the day before the first service light went off.

Who is buying Mach-E or Lightning that can't charge at home? Probably bad at math I guess.

I'd understand a Hyundai/Kia cause those come with the free charging that's wreaking havoc on infrastructure

I charge at home with a level 2 charger. It adds about 30 miles of range per hour which is just fine for overnight charging to 100%.

But with the HVBJB issue I was told I shouldn't be able to charge at all. I told him I can charge at home and he said I must be one of the few that could still do that with the HVBJB issue.

Nah, it will charge fine with P0ADE. There’s only an issue if you get a stop safely now error and it won’t drive. Dealer isn’t familiar with the difference.
