I took ownership of my new 2023 F-150 Lightning yesterday and have set up PaaK on it and have it set up on my MME. It seems as though the PaaK is only working with my MME though and not the truck. I know that there are some out there with multiple MMEs, so I'm wondering what is best practice for making sure that PaaK works (as well as it ever does anyway) on two vehicles. Do I need to switch the vehicles in Fordpass or something?

Yes. Switch in FordPass and it should work, as per someone else's post.

I’m checking in with someone at Ford but haven’t heard back.

So far, it seems the only option is to switch to the correct vehicle in the Ford Pass app. FP only seems to be able to simulate one fob at a time.

I also encourage you to switch a minute before you reach the vehicle. I suspect the PaaK feature in FP has to communicate with the mothership to download the current series of security keys. If you switch just in time to open the door, you may not have the security key in time to start the vehicle.

Thank you! Great input!

Is that working well for you? Anything else that can be done to mitigate issues here?

I previously had two MMEs and this was a regular issue, so ended up getting rid of one of them. I recently got a Lightning and I'm finding it unable to detect the key regularly again. I was really hoping the break would have been long enough for Ford to figure out how to make PAAK work well for multi-vehicle owners. Apparently, it wasn't long enough.

I find that as long as I switch the key from one to the other in the app and give it about 30 seconds, the key works without a problem. I wish there was a way to just keep both keys active all the time, but now that I understand how to switch them, it works alright.

So wait. You sold a car because you couldn't use PaaK on 2 vehicles simultaneously? Really?

Why is it so hard to open app and switch vehicles?

Well, it was one of the many reasons 6 mo ago…e.g. selecting car A to open trunk and car B’s would open. I believe you and I were discussing resell values in the MME forums and some of those issues back then.

What made you jump to the conclusion that I wasn’t opening the app and switching vehicles when experiencing this issue? That’s great switching appears to be 100% foolproof for you, but it has not been my experience now on two combinations of three Ford PAAK vehicles.

The no key found persists and even in situations when the desired vehicle was already selected before approaching either vehicle.

And as for auto switching, it does seem silly this doesn’t work. Both vehicles show as connected via BT simultaneously when nearby and I can only assume on the back end the vehicles have the data showing signal strength for their connection. Fingers crossed Ford fixes this in the future.

I have never owned two vehicles with PaaK, except for an overlap when zi bought the 2022, and I didn't try to use PaaK on both. I see no huge advantage to PaaK vs fob a d have no issue carrying a fob.
