Pausing navigation question

On a 10k mile road trip and utilizing MME navigation, which seems to be working perfect, and need to pause navigation at certain stops.
If I stop at a location and MME is still running the nav will repeatedly continue to provide spoken direction as if I were continuing on the route.
I know I can turn the car off and nav will continue the route as normal once it’s restarted, however this doesn’t work if in a drive through. It would be nice if I could just pause the nav and restart only continuing on journey.

You can mute the voice prompts. Tap the speaker icon that is located along the left edge of the screen. I keep mine muted 99% of time because I don't like my music being interrupted. I only unmute if I'm in a really unfamiliar area.

You can also, while s/he's talking, turn the vol down a bit so it's not so obnoxious...

Yes I’ve been doing that, however my 2004 Pirus & our 2011 BMW 535i both have a “pause” function. I would have thought my MME, which is 17 years later than my Prius would have some sort of pause function.
