I'm stumped. I cannot get my Phone as Key to work on my iPhone 13.

I deleted the Phone as Key trying to get the remote start to work and now can't get it working again. Remote start works great buy the way.

Don't know if it has something to do with the Bluetooth Low Energy or not because Carplay works in the car and Bluetooth shows connected on my phone.

When I run the Phone as Key setup, everything goes as it should but not able to get into car with the phone or use the control panel in the app to open windows, or trunks. I get notifications in the app saying Phone as Key was successfully added.

Looking for ideas.

I tried deleting PAK from the car and phone, deleting the app and reloading it. Deleting all Bluetooth instances on my phone, restarting the car and phone, and starting over without allowing Carplay to connect.

I deleted the car from the app, deleted the app, restarted the phone, and re-added the car as if setting it up for the first time. Still not working.

Anyone else had this issue?

Any ideas appreciated.

Used Phone as Key in my 2021 for three years without issue and in the 2024 up until this.

Thanks all.

The first time I tried to enable PaaK on my iPhone 16 with my 2024 it failed. After failing several times I tried deleting PaaK from the phone, doing a PaaK reset in the car, rebooting the phone, then doing a PaaK install. It worked that time and no issues since with PaaK. It doesn’t sound like the same issue since your PaaK install seems to complete but it can’t hurt to try. ?‍♂?

Thanks. Tried all of that.
try forgetting the even the car Bluetooth connection on phone . Delete phone entirely on car. Basically delete it all wrt to your phone and start over . Paak is notorious for these quirks. I don’t rely on it ever.

Buy a newer iPhone ??? Troubleshooting paak is just one series of guesses hoping something works.
Ha! Might work… $1,000 experiment.
No thanks.
I’ll figure it out with the help of all of you.
It’s just a computer running a some electric motors.
How hard can it be??

It may be a long shot, and there may be a fuse that resets whatever has the BT module, but it sounds like a hung BT module if you can’t even use the app features like windows and climate. Pull the 12v negative in the frunk for 30 seconds and reapply. That’ll reboot the entire stack and may get your BT connectivity working again. Had something similar a year ago, same troubleshooting steps.

The wifi connection is needed for Carplay.
Try to completely remove your phone from the car and do a hard reset on your iPhone: Press and quickly release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Press and hold the side button. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
Don’t worry, you won’t be losing any data.

I’ll try this today.
