Well, I finally gave up on trying to use my Phone as a Key (PAK). It worked at first (Oct 2021 - Jan 2022) but gradually became more and more of a problem. Early on the problem started as an issue once I was inside the vehicle. I’d walk up, the car would recognize my phone, doors would open, I’d get inside only to find the message “key not detected”. I’d get out, walk away, reset the Bluetooth and for the most part it would work. After experiencing this issue at least a dozen times, and after deleting the APP, removing and re-adding the car 5 times in an attempt to get a consistent connection it finally just stopped working completely. I now use my key fob. Any ideas or similar experiences? Perhaps the folks at Ford can lend a hand if they’re reading this post.

Have you had the RFA updated? It sounds like your car was likely built before 9/30/21, so you qualify for 21P22.

Proof Ford can do successful behavior modification. Welcome to PAAP/FAAK. Everyone else will get there eventually.

RFA? Does that need to happen at the dealer? I did receive at least one over the air update.

Hello! Send us a private message with your MachE’s VIN and current mileage. Allow me to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!

I've only use the PAAK since I got my car a year ago. Recently I replaced my Note 20 Ultra with an S22 Ultra and now PAAK is better than ever. In fact, as I approach the car the car lights up just as if it were the FOB. It's now a great experience. While the Note was good, the S22 has been great.

My guess is that your PAAK issue is phone. Many apps on a phone can interfere with the connectivity. Have you tried a factory reset of your phone?

My Wife tried it for the first week, she now keeps the original Fob chained to her purse! I don’t like the idea of using my phone for a key so I got another Fob for myself. We are both drivers of the car so this solution works best for us!
