The wifi connection is needed for Carplay.
Try to completely remove your phone from the car and do a hard reset on your iPhone: Press and quickly release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Press and hold the side button. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
Don’t worry, you won’t be losing any data.

I’ve been using the iPhone 13 for months on this car and a couple of years on the 2021 without issue until I deleted phone as key try to get the remote start function to work.

It’s been close to 2 years since I had to redo the phone and just recently started using it as the only key. Trying to start with phone now. Ok climate came on.

Had to reset network settings on iPhone twice to get it to work.

When I was able to use my iPad as Phone As Key I figured it was either the phone or the car not liking the phone so I decided to reset the network settings on the phone a second time. Not sure why it didn’t work the first time.

This could be THE solution for many people out there dealing with PAAK issues. Using an iPad as PAAK was a smart idea ?

I figured if the iPad worked then it was either my phone or the cache on the car somehow remembering the phone or old key.
Why it took me clearing the network settings on the phone twice, I have no idea but glad it worked.

I’ve used phone as key for years and once you do, you never want to carry that large key FOB again.
