Phone charge level defaults to 100

When I set charge level at 80% in my phone and in the car, my phone changes level to 100 after a few seconds. level limit in car still reads 80, but car charges to 100.

What kind of phone do you have? Are you on FordPass 5?

Samsung S22 here, FP 5.0.2. Something similar happened to me, but it kept going to 85 regardless of what level I chose. I just force quit the app and restarted it and then it worked fine.

You should be able to see it in the app when you go to your profile/settings. Or see the version in the app store.

What does the charge status say in the main screen on your phone when it’s charging? Does it say it is charging to 80% or 100%

make sure you set the limit for the proper location.

There have been issues with setting charge limits in the app since day one. Some of the issues are app issues, some back-end. This sounds like a back-end issue. Try force-quitting the app and rebooting the phone. Reset the charge limit on the screen in the car. Power down the car and let it sit 10 minutes and restart the car, then re-open the app. ??

Everything says it is set to 80. I will try quitting the app. Thx

A have found version 5 Ford Play to be a little cranky about changing charging levels. I Once did it as I was also unlocking my Wall Box charger, and it refused to charge for a day.

My worry: You set the slider to a different level (for me 90%-100%), the top bar starts going back and forth saying it is working at it - and it stays stuck in that mode. I use iPhone. Question, does it have to talk to the big Ford software up in the sky, or is it just having trouble talking to the car.

I noticed this for the 1st time 2 days ago. I have a Samsung Galaxy Flip and I was trying to set any of my 3 charging destinations to 85% but it would jump to 95%. Then I said OK, let do 95% and it would move to 100%. There was no going back. So I went to the car and set it from there.
