I have a long roadtrip coming up this evening. I plugged the car in 20 minutes ago in the garage. Tried using the app to charge it to 100%. No such option. The app still says "Updated 21 minutes ago". Pulling down to refresh doesn't seem to refresh anything - even though it's connected via Bluetooth. There used to be a dialog that would show-up when the car is plugged in that would let me override preferred charge settings, and charge to 100%.

At times, the simplest tasks with this car are beyond frustrating. I really don't know what Ford app engineers are doing with their time.

Are you within your scheduled charge window? I believe the charge to 100% only pops up when it is already charging, so if you aren't in your charge window, it won't pop up.

I could be wrong, I have only used charge to 100% a few times and my car was already charging in its time window.

Mine last updated 2 hours ago but I see the charge to 100 button. I’m not with my charging schedule time so it’s greyed out.

Could always go into the car and update the location to charge to 100% if needed.

First I would confirm the car is actually charging by looking at the lights next to the charging port on the car. If one is blinking, it is charging.

On the Home screen in FP, you should see the charging status at the bottom of the page. Touch "Details" and the next screen is where you can override the target charge. I do it all the time and have never had a problem.

Being within the schedule charging time is irrelevant. My window is 7PM - 11AM, so right now I am NOT in the window.

From HOME in the app, I have the banner saying "Target Charge Reached" with a Details button. If I click on it, it shows me the Charge to 100% banner to click on.

@hybrid2bev, yours may be grayed out because you're waiting for your charge window, but aren't at your charge level, whereas I am at 90%.

Is your EVSE providing power currently? Or does it also have a charge window set?
My EVSE is set to the same hours, so the car knows it's plugged in, but doesn't know it cannot get power because it hasn't tried to.

Sounds like the problem is app has not pulled the latest status from the car. I often have to try to refresh the app several times or even try sending a lock/unlock command to get it say "updated just now or 1 min ago" before it will let me remote start or charge to 100%.

What I do to get it unstuck is switch from the Home screen over to Vehicle. Then the charging banner at the bottom refreshes and I then click Details. That gives me the working "Charge to 100%" function.

I just used the charge to 100% feature yesterday. What I miss was the old "Charge Now" button that would initiate charging but still stop upon reaching the preferred SOC.

Hey, thanks for your reply to my /rant. I appreciate the screenshots!

That's normally what I would do as well (switch to the Vehicle screen). This time it just wouldn't refresh. I'm guessing that the Bluetooth connection is only used for locking/unlocking, etc. but not for actual data/sync transfer about the vehicle status.

That part seems to be communicated via MME's cell link to Ford's servers, and then back down to your app. My problem is that cell signal in my neighborhood is pretty weak. If only I could get my MME to connect to my Wi-Fi, but that's another bug that has been unresolved in Sync 4, going on 2 years now.

When I park MME in areas of good cell coverage, it seems to communicate quicker with my app.

Still strange that the Bluetooth connection doesn't communicate all vehicle functions.

As for my problem here, I had to go into the car and press Start to get the Sync 4 to load, and disable "Locations" under charging, where my preferred times are stored. It then started charging to 100%.

Don't worry, once you get this sorted out then you'll encounter the next bug: when pressing "charge to 100%" during an active charging session it breaks the app communication and it stops updating SOC and doesn't reflect the new target charge level in the app. At least that is my experience with FordPass.
