Plug and Charge in Canada

The public charging app on the in car screen has been disabled. You can activate from your phone within the ford app though.

What he said above, in car now disabled, but works fine from the phone app. But yes, we have zero charging accounts, we have zero charging apps, we just have cc on file with Ford, and activate via phone app, works awesome. Also Ford is the only one that can do it (maybe MB now?) but I put this in tesla peoples faces for years now, they cant do anything like it.

I have quite a few charger apps on my phone from the past five years of EV ownership. The ones that annoy to me are the ones that require you to load money onto them. Then the company switches apps or goes out of business and that money is either lost or it is a pain to track it down and get it back.

Getting back in track…. You are saying that I can (in Canada) plug in and the n activate the session in the Ford app? Does something obvious pop up? Do I have to be on a certain screen?

Yes, in canada, pull up, stay in car, open public charging in phone (or do it now from your seat) you can zoom in on the chargers see a list:
Stall 1 - Activate
Stall 2 - Activate....
You pick the one in front of you, hit activate, and by the time you get out of the car it is ready to be plugged in and start. It blows peoples mind when you show them.

Bills your card on file, and receipt is in fordpass.

Ford should show it off in commercials, a competitor complaining about downloading another app, the Ford pulls in and activates, maybe have Cindy Crawford do it holding a Pepsi

Wow, thank you for the info. I'm new to the forum and EV ownership. We are leaving on a road trip with our MME and just using the Ford Pass app for charging will make charging less complicated.

Glad I checked this thread. We are driving around Lake Superior starting on Friday. I would have expected to the plug & charge to work. Good to know I can do this from FordPass. Thanks.
