When you look at the instrument panel, the charger shows below the total battery range. If it shows as a FLAG, then it won't precondition. If it shows as a pump, it will.

If you use the supercharger network like your son, your fast charge will improve like 2x.

Not as fast as most Tesla, but should go up to respectable.

Are there none in your route?
I routinely get 150kW at my local Telsa SC if the battery is below 50%, but then again that's with preconditioning and not being sub-freezing.

Oddly, if I do not precondition/drive from home (2min drive) to the local SC, and my other half does exactly the same with similar battery % (around 25ish%) with the '24 Tesla Model 3, the Mach E will reach higher charging speeds faster than the Tesla. I'll be at like 75kW from dead cold while the Tesla is stuck at 47kW.
