For the final purchase, my original sales guy was not in, so I got "Jeff" when I called. He was able to get me in the car for a drive within like 5 hours of it being delivered, which was great.
Without any kind of hassle they were fine with me doing "X-Plan, Ford Options, Price Protection." (They do not do ADMs on orders.) BUT when I got the final price breakdown it did not have Price Protection on it. They explained that because I had not asked for X-Plan when I placed the order (that's true) that I couldn't get price protection w/ the x-plan price. So I told them I wanted Price Protection instead of X-Plan because it's $2k vs. ~$800.
They didn't hassle me about this change, but it seemed to throw them for a big loop. It was already late, so they punted until the next day... But they let me take the new car home even though the deal wasn't done! The next day Jeff was not there and they could not figure out what to do without him, I guess. The following day, Jeff was in, and they were able to get it straightened out, and I was able to sign/finalize everything.
I didn't mind at all having them be a bit confused about the process because they let me have the car while they sorted it out. Everyone was of course friendly (that's really minimum required IMO) but more importantly I didn't feel like they were trying to squeeze money out of me (which is sadly what I normally expect in a car buy).
Oh and to the "guy from the forums" who walked in to get his VVR while I was waiting for Finance: hope your MachE shows up real soon
