Power lift gate power lost set height lost

After the 12v lost say you unplugged the 12v power supply wires then plug it back in to the control box, you open the gate it rises to its maximum height, not until the 2nd time open it does it stop at the preset height. That posts a danger in garage hitting the garage door. Does anyone have this situation or because of that mine is aftermarket power struts

I didn’t install the foot open switch thought.
Any solution for this?

Have you tried to set the hatch height memory after you replaced the lifting struts?

Being that you installed an aftermarket system it might not have a memory setting though

I did, but it goes back to factory set height, not until it opens the second time did its memory come back.

I’m guessing that the struts don’t have a memory setting or a distance sensor that the module can use

Might have to contact the manufacturer of the kit and ask them if their system has a memory setting

It would be good to note in the threads title that you’re referring to an aftermarket device.

Here is another similar aftermarket kit. Don’t know if they have the same issue. might have to ask there under the comment.
