The fundamental mistake on these range related charging questions is the faulty thinking that the EPA range number is actually the range that you'll obtain when driving.

No. It is not. It's not true for ICE vehicles nor is it true for EVs. Whether the EPA number is mpgs or miles, it is an estimate based on very controlled driving conditions.

Just like an ICE vehicle, your actual number depends on numerous driving conditions, e.g. speed, acceleration, traffic, grades, weather, etc.

The Range indicator can only base its numbers on how you've driven and what conditions you've encountered in the past and it will use that and other immediate information, such as temperature, to come up with an estimate prediction.

To be fair, the OP asked a question thatā€™s asked multiple times per week.

First response, no rudeness, answered the question.

OP ignored the answer.

Then the chaos/rudeness begins.

People make jokes on threads like these because itā€™s the only way to keep from going insane. ?
Yeah I think the biggest problem was OP thinking he didnā€™t get a satisfactory answer cause it didnā€™t fit their narrative

We have AWD with the extended battery. Last 100% charge showed 268 miles but we are averaging 3.5 miles per kWh with a total of 7200 miles so far. Thatā€™s with a mix of city and highway driving and mostly warm to hot weather!
Yeah Iā€™m 3.5 to 3.7 on mine on the highway at 80 degrees, itā€™s nice.

Geeze, I keep it under 70 and I have been 2.5-2.7. Now that itā€™s warming up itā€™s getting closer to 3. ??

Auto cruise control helps a lot
Heh I use the IACC all the time to manage my speed. Must be all the drag created by my wheels. ??

You really should install the optional 19ā€ wheels available on the Select trim. ?

We get that on I-4 but only when the traffic is moving at 20 mph or less! Then when I get to hwy 429 and open it up between 70 to 80 mph it drops off to around 2.7. Running the AC doesnā€™t seem to have much impact on range. I see a noticeable decrease in range when the temperature drops below 50 degrees.

My AWD, ER, CARt.1 usually has 150-240 miles range on its display with approximately 80-90% charge.

Our actual range depends on a dozen different factors, but my calculated range based on driving and efficiency during the actual trip has been >300 for all but one trip. That one trip was into 40 mph winds at 75 mph, so approximately 115 mph effort to move the vehicle.
Yup. Head winds will hammer your EV range. Only option is to slow down or charge more frequently.

HuntingPudel It's not your wheels, it's your lead foot ?

Yeah it drops pretty heavy after 75, I try not to go faster than 70

Ha-ha! I mostly just accelerate to 10 and use the IACC to do the rest. I guess the acceleration from the IACC is wasteful. ??ā€ā™‚?

you know the speed numbers being referenced are MPH, not Warp Factors, right? just checking ;)
