Our rear door was damaged in a small fender bender, and we are going to be getting a new one courtesy of the insurance company. Due to the lead time, I’m trying to get the car drivable again until the door comes in (Have a cap on rental duration coverage). Thanks to some shims and gentle persuasion on the hinges, I have the door to where it will open and close again, but the door open alert is still going off. There doesn’t appear to be any physical switch that depresses, unless I missed it. Perhaps it is magnetic? If anyone has insight to where the switch is and how I can dummy the position temporarily, the information would be much appreciated.

In case anyone else wanders in here curious... the sensor is actually in the door latch itself. Like all cars it has a two levels of latching, and you have to hit both of them to turn off the door ajar light. Due to the damage mine wasn't closing all of the way, I had to slot the striker so I could move it out towards the edge of the car (now I'll be getting a new striker when I get my new door).
