On my standard non-performance GT I feel that the rear motor has gotten quite loud and increases with speed. It is louder when accelerating which is understandable but even cruising at 60-70 I feel it is overly loud. I did not notice this the first 1.5 years I had the car but now my ear is tuned to it so I hear it all the time and it really bothers me. No one else in my family has commented so maybe it's just more psychological but I don't think so. For example it's louder that my Highlander Hybrid when cruising at 70. I would call it more of a droning sound than a high pitched whirring.

I don't have the fake sounds turned on and it's not tire noise since it still happens on newly paved super smooth roads. Everything else is fine. No vibrations or other abnormalities. It definitely sounds like it's coming from the rear motor. I read some earlier posts with high pitched sounds in the 30-40 mph range but this isn't that.

I'll try to record it to help see if I really have a problem or just going crazy.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Can your car travel at >88 mph? If no, it’s probably the oil pump. If yes, there might be another reason. ??

I'll have to use this as an excuse when I get pulled over! Really officer, doing 90 is how I check on the oil pump. LOL

Hi Gil! I can look into your Mach-E's noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

Follow up on this. It turned out to be a faulty rear hub bearing assembly. It was fixed under warranty by Maplecrest Ford in Mendham NJ. All back nice and quiet again!
