I had all of my windows down the other day - the weather was beautiful! Later that I used my iPhone app to close all the windows and the right rear window went to the closed position but then immediately went all the way back down. All of three other windows stayed up. Tried it again and the same thing happened. Tried it with the door button in the driver door and when I pulled it far enough to automatically close the window it went up and then immediately all the way back down. I was able to close it with the door button by raising it a little at a time. If I did that and went too far at the top it immediately reversed to all the way down. Any thoughts before I pay big bucks a the Ford dealershi?

I have the same issue randomly with one or both of my rear windows when using remote close. It's a real PITA.

Fortunately, the window switch is always able to close the windows with no problem.

It is thinking something is blocking it from going all the way up. You don’t want to pull the switch all the way to where it engages auto up, just gently raise it after it’s all the way lowered, this should allow it to know nothings blocking it and use auto close again. Here’s the calibration procedure.

That's normal, they use soft start and stop now for every cycle.

This is the calibration procedure:

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Press and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully open.
  3. Release the window control switch.
  4. Lift and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully closed.
  5. Release the window control switch.
  6. Lift and hold the window control switch again for at least one second.
  7. Press and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully open.
  8. Release the window control switch.
  9. Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed.
  10. Test for correct window operation by carrying out the one-touch down and one-touch up features.

From what I've observed, it seems as though the rear windows are not aligned perfectly in the track when closing. They appear to tilt a bit forward under their own weight, shifting towards the front of the vehicle. This imbalance creates resistance, which in turn, triggers the pinch sensor and reverses the window back down.

Again, this is just my educated guess as to why they don't always close. I've actually been able to "assist" the window closed by pulling up on it while triggering the remote close.
