Hello,

After seeing a lot of complaints of of the ride quality of the MME i thought i'd call around to see what people have in development for coilovers (I know the KW v3 exist not what i'm looking for). I have a GT on order and am worried that the car will not be wife compliant. Here is a quick bullet point of what I found out so far. If there is a manufacture you'd like me to inquire with please let me know as i'm happy to pick up the phone. I'll update the thread with any new info I aquire.

  • Fortune auto - They were open to the idea but their engineering book is full for 2022. Will follow up with an email showing the demand for improved suspension to get the message through.
  • Mountain pass performance - no go, as the owner drove a Mach-e (unspecified model) and was not impressed by the vehicle so "NO MUSTANG" parts on their website as they stated.
  • BC coilovers - They have coilovers in development!! They should be the comfort oriented model hopefully the DS model with digressive valving. No timeline on the release date but they are in process.

Upgrade to magneride if you can! Well worth it!
Not interested in Magneride due to the temperature error concerns and the lack of adjustment ie damping range and spring choice. Magneride makes the ride better agreed, but it does not make the perfect ride handling combo and is a fixed system. Also issues with Magneride being inconsistent at the limit, just an opinion but Ford is the worst at tuning Magneride dampers, they could learn a thing or too from GM.

It is going to be ages before you see a full system on the MME that has the perfect ride handling combo... you have a much greater chance of a magneride controller coming out that lets you tune it more to your liking. Other than the VDM errors, that are hopefully getting worked out, I haven't seen any complaints about the ride. I love mine and its great on twistys.

Far from perfect, sure. But it still pulled .99 G on the skidpad in a 5000 lb SUV while making the ride on the street comfortable.

Plus the convenience of changing stiffness with the push of the button.

I had mag ride on my last car as well (Chevy SS) and loved it on that car too. The SS had more settings and the ability to change independently of other drive modes (that I miss).

If I wanted to track my cars, I could understand wanting more. But for a good street comfort with decent handling at the push of a button, it’s hard to beat.
