I have a 2021 Mach E, built in Oct-Nov 2021. I took delivery in Dec 2021 and within two months I received a letter notifying me of a safety recall to correct the way the backseat seatbelts were attached to the frame. It took two months for the dealership to agree that this recall applied to my car and another month to get an appointment (and a loaner, which I insisted on). The work was supposed to take 2 days. After two days they told me that there was something unusual about my car and they were waiting for Ford to approve them "dropping the battery" to complete the repair. "Don't worry, we'll get it all put back together right" they volunteered, before I even formulated a question. We are now at 11 days and they aren't returning my phone calls. In a subsequent call (at day 6) they admitted that they dropped a bolt on top of the battery while doing the repair and needed to get the bolt. So I have a few questions:

Has anyone else had this recall? What should I be concerned about with them removing and replacing the battery at the dealership? Am I right to be concerned that the dealership service personnel may not know what they are doing? I assume I will I lose all my data for the battery to date (3000 miles on the car)? Have to start over with all phone connections, touchpad codes, etc?

Pretty clearly stated that a bolt fell from the seatbelt mount onto the battery (i.e. they screwed up).

You will lose nothing. 12v battery stores all that in the computers, and it will all still be there. Dealership should be able to drop the battery and get the bolt, do the belt recall, and then put the battery back up with no issue.
