We have those strategically placed around our house and the general building area for watering. They work well for that,

I’d be curious how you’d feel about the thickness of the foam with the low pressure. I’ve seen many with 2,000+ psi as the min to get thick enough foam made. Bought the chemical guys equivalent with 2000 psi for about $170 but haven’t tried it yet.
I have nothing to compare it to but for $150 I feel it’s a good deal. However like most of the YouTube I’ve seen i agree the “canon” does not seem efficient. Uses quite a lot of soap. I may do more research on another cannon like chemical guy or whoever. I’ve also been told example 1800 maybe to strong and hard in the paint. I used the 25 nozzle

I’m working on my Ryobi setup. Decided to go with a permanent installation setup along with the new Ryobi flexible 50’ hose. Comparable to the Flexzilla I believe…. And I picked up a Raincovo for it. I’ll post some pics and a review as well when I’m done.

From the video they have on Home Depot site, the foam doesn’t look thick enough. The foam gun has a wide enough nozzle as to not to be hard on the paint. For rinsing the car, use a wide nozzle and you’ll be fine. If you use the zero degree nozzle, you’d probably damage the paint. There’s an application for each type of nozzle to calibrate the pressure to do an effective job without causing any harm.

One more thing, the higher the pressure, the less water it consumes. You might not care about water consumption for economic reasons, but water will make a mess in your garage or on the street. So less is better imho.

The foam looks thin compared to after markets I’ve seen. I just can’t remember the names. Over all im happy with it for a novice! I live in Seattle none the less I try not to waste water and generally wash in the grass

Congrats on the purchase. The foam cannon is the weakest part of the Ryobi set you purchased but probably still better than the soap gun you wanted from a garden hose.

The trick to making thick shaving cream foam is the orifice size from the cannon. For ones with less pressure and output, it's generally recommended to go with 1.1mm orifice. With your new Ryobi 1.8GPM model, you can probably use the 1.24mm orifice but experiment, if you can.

Some aftermark foam cannons come with both orifices so you can swap based on your need. When looking for a foam cannon, get one with a wide top opening so it's easier to fill with soap, water, and general cleaning.

This guy tested a bunch of foam cannons across different price ranges:
I personally use the MJJC Pro V2 and love it. Most people do too if you look for reviews online. The price is in the middle of the pack. Not too expensive but also not too cheap. It's well made, performs almost as well as the most expensive ones so there's incredible value there too. The cheapest I could find is on ebay and from this link: https://ebay.us/m/qQxllE
I'm not sure how this seller sells it cheaper than everyone else, but as far as I can tell it's legit. It's also the same seller when I purchased mine last year.
