Software update:
I can't update my software. I've tried via my vehicle and via my app. Ivan called Ford and they were worthless. I even deleted the app, reinstalled it with no changes.

You cannot force a vehicle to get an OTA update. Are you saying you have a pending OTA trying to install that won't install?

And yes.....the 800 number you call is worthless.

What specific update are you expecting? What does the screen show?

It’s highly possible that your car just doesn’t have or doesn’t need any updates at the moment. Updates are very infrequent and often offer no visible or functional change.

This is not like your computer or phone where you can “fetch” and download the latest updates whenever you want. Updates are pushed to your specific car by Ford on an as-needed basis. Not every vehicle will get every update and not every module update is done over the air.

Clarify…
Sync software in the car OR Ford app on your phone?

I have seen the post in the form about a recent OTA update to the Sync software in the car. However, my 2026 is not showing it as available. I even took it to the dealership and they said my VIN is at the latest update. Said the update in the forum could be VIN lot specific or location specific, year specific, etc etc but I wasn’t getting an update at this time. Thoughts?

If you’re looking for the latest sync update, it’s rolling out extremely slowly and only to a literal handful of early access vehicles at this point. Further, as your dealer implied, some updates are only released by VIN. It can take awhile before it’s your turn.

I have waited 1½ year for an update to my 2022 model. Final I got one, last month, but it failed. The same one that failed 1½ years ago. It says update not completed. And there is no possibility to try again. So maybe I will have to wait 1½ year more for the next try 🤔 Dealer won't help me.

The update description was: Small updates and adjustment preparing for a bigger update. Which I then probably will not receive.
