I don't see the Kia handling that wreck as well as the Mach-E did. The Mach-E is a 5000lb tank.
Based on? The Mach-e was trashed, too. I think both will keep the occupants safe.

Are you sure that was a Tesla adapter plug and not the vehicle-to-load adapter that is definitely included? Congrats - I've got the same color GT Line AWD. Great car.
I thought it was odd but that's what the dealer told me. Lol...you are correct it is a V2L adapter ! Thanks for the info. :) do you have an MME too? Mine is still supposedly on the way.

How about a driver assist comparison? I heard the EV6 is pretty terrible, and bluecruise has been heaven for me on long stretches of straights. That is reason enough for me to MME right there.

The Heads Up display and the turn signal pic that I posted were both screen grabs, not from my car. I haven't gotten my car back yet from the Shop (PPF /

I haven't done any long trips in my EV6 yet. But the tech is similar to what I had in my GV80 and that was pretty solid.

I don't have my Mach-E yet to compare it to BlueCruise.

A couple of days after I bought my EV6 I got the "built" notification on my GTPE. It had been stuck in chip hold for almost two months. It still has not shipped, but yeah, I have not cancelled the order. I'll make the decision once the car is here and I see what the dealer is going to do at the table.

A friend who ordered a MMe after he drove mine in Oct 2021 has temporarily given up on waiting and just purchased the EV6. I drove it a bit. Some quick thoughts...

- 1 pedal driving doesn't come to a full stop

- felt somewhat claustrophobic

- blind spots in rear seemed larger

- very nice handling, felt substantial and responsive

- GOOD pickup (don't know numbers but I threw the owner back in his seat).

- nice interior. Well thought out and quality feel.

- not wild about exterior

I love my MMe but this would be a contender for me.

The highest regen does stop and yes the cabin feels super claustrophobic like a small car.

I consider the EV6 a hothatch. I don't see it as a great family crossover... it's very much a wagon/sedan/hatchback.

No doubt. It IS a hot hatch…or a larger sedan. If you’re looking for a vehicle to haul the kids and the dog, this isn’t it.

how high is the ride in comparison to MME? I think it rides a little lower even though it has more ground clearance

If you choose iPedal (via the regen paddles on the steering wheel), one pedal driving will indeed come to a full stop and hold hills.
The driver side blind spot is real, but that’s what the video display on the dash in front of you is for. A video image pops up every time you use your blinker - it’s awesome.

I agree, the back end takes some getting used to, but it’s definitely growing on me. Overall, the styling is a little more stealth, but I’m ok with that.

The ride is DEFINITELY lower. For all intent and purpose, this is a large hatchback car. It sits lower than most, if not all SUV’s.

Thanks for the write up on the EV6.

I am following this car and waiting on the full GT version to see what it has to offer vs my MME. I love this MME, but let's be honest, the EV world is just opening up and there will be something better at some point. Maybe it's the EV6GT in my case ?‍♂

I’m looking at the GT as well. I don’t necessarily miss the power of my MMEGT as 1. The EV6 GT Line is plenty fast 2. I really only used the 0-60 when I wanted to impress/scare the s*** out of my passenger. However, I heard that the GT may not have cooled seats…that may wind up being the dealbreaker, tbh.

After a month, here are some additional likes/ dislikes:

Dislikes:

Infotainment System:

They layout of this entertainment system seems “last generation”. I don’t use it at all. It’s Apple CarPlay or bust for me. The current system could definitely use a refresh.

Storage Space

I’ve touched on this in previous posts. The trunk space, coming from the MME, is disappointing. The space under the rear trunk and the minuscule Frunk are both only slightly practical. I can fit my old MME portable charger in the Frunk so, it serves its purpose. But, I do miss having a case of water and all my car cleaning supplies in the Frunk. Oh and the cup holders are smaller. No more Big Gulp size cups in the center console….that’s annoying. ?

SUV?

No. This is NOT a SUV. Ride height wise, I’m sitting at the same height as a Lexus Sedan whereas the MME sat on the same plane as my Porsche Macan.

Sound System

Not as punchy as the MME. However, the surround sound effect and over all sound on the EV6 is more pronounced…it just needs a better Sub.

Likes:

Technology/Amenities

Charging Port - When the door is locked, the charge port cannot be opened. Also, when the door is locked, the Charging cable cannot be removed. The door HAS to be unlocked in order to remove the cable. I only mentioned this because I saw a post on this forum asking what to do if someone removes the charging cable from your car...In the EV6, they can't.
Heads Up Display - I’d need to take a video of it in order to show it real time, pics are too hit and miss)
Ventilated/Heated seats.
Rear heated seats.
The Blind spot Camera shows a real time video of your blind spot in your dash, when you activate the turn signal. (See pic below). In addition, there is a Blind Spot warning that shows on the augmented HUD and mirror.
Ford Mustang Mach-E T 0F2FBDF0-B6FC-4AFE-9F07-D98DD8936089

The lift gate / trunk automatically opens if you stand there for 4 seconds (similar to kick to open on the MME).

Having the ability to change your regeneration levels from 1-4 (4 being the 1PD) on the fly via paddle shifters. This works amazingly as you transition from city to highway driving…no button presses for 1PD, you control it on the fly. I use it to slow down on the highway as well. Upcoming cars slowing down? Hit the paddle shifter to the desired regen/braking and “upshift” when the speed picks up. The driving modes REALLY make a tangible difference on how the car rides. You FEEL the changes immediately.

Changing the drive mode at the press of a button on the steering wheel. See Pic Above

Differences in both drive mode and regeneration selection have an immediate impact on the feel of the car. Also, the car gives you a real time estimate of your miles based on drive mode, hvac, etc.
Ford Mustang Mach-E T E6C20A71-29D4-40B3-8CBC-4E614450BBEC

I talked smack about the smaller moonroof on the EV6 earlier but now that I can open it…yea, it’s pretty cool. Still “standard” but I can crack that instead of the windows when highway driving.

18 min 10% - 80% charge times only happened 3x so far, the true average is around 25 mins.

I’ve never used vehicle to load yet…

Ride Quality / Drive

It sticks to the road better. ? I have a sharp curve that I love to drive at high speeds in order to test how well the car can “stick”. It’s non scientific but, helps me understand the limits of the car/tires.

Ford Mustang Mach-E T AE786AA1-E134-43C7-BA15-DAF746693334

I’ll take this curve as fast as I can until the tires start to protest. There aren’t any speed signs but, if there were, 25-35 mph would probably be the limit. Here are the results:

“Wheel squeal” Mph

17 Porsche Macan S - 76 mph

21 MMEGT - 62 mph

22 EV6 GT Line - 74-5 mph
Again, a VERY unofficial test and this could have everything to do with the tires used so, take it with a grain.

Ride comfort.

I said this before and I’ll say it again. If you don’t have air suspension MMEGTPE, then your ride isn’t as good. Period. This car has great dampening. It’s not the Lexus like ride of the Ioniq but, who wants that car anyway???? ? There is no exaggerated car roll / sway on sharp corners either. This car hugs the road.

Overall, the accident was truly a blessing in disguise. If I had to do it all over again, knowing what I know now, I’d pick the EV6. There isn’t a doubt in my mind. Looks are subjective so, I won’t go there…they are both head turners. It definitely looks better in person and the amenities far outweigh the detriments. That said, my MME “SnowBunn-E” will ALWAYS hold a special place for me. I MISS the lighted Pony on the front of the GT. To me, that was one of the coolest design features by far….and I personally think the facade of the GT looks way better than the standard MME. Just my personal opinion.

This is probably my last post on this forum but I’ll definitely stay as a user and will be here to answer any questions.

Safe Drives and quick charges everyone!

Here’s the first pic I took of my MME after delivery.

Thx! I’ve said it before, I am very fortunate. I’ll have to come back to address this. It’s currently getting the PPF installed so, I’ll definitely come back and report on this. I drove straight to the shop via the expressway and didn’t notice any steering numbness but, now that I’m aware, I’ll be sure to speak to it after I get her back…I did notice the tighter turn radius but, that was it…??. More to come.
Hey @kikibop , I promised that I would come back to this after some time so, I’m back. The “numbness” is a function of the EV in general. I also have a Porsche Macan so, the immediate feel/feeling that you get from the road is noticeably dulled when you drive an EV. That said, the EV6 turns a little sharper than the MME. Those of you with one know that “turning a boat” feeling when trying to do a U Turn in a space that isnt….quite…wide enough. There is less of that in the EV6.

In terms of road “feel” there may have been 2 issues that created that “numbness”.
1. In Eco mode, the EV6 only uses RWD to maximize the efficiency. This makes the car noticeably slower. Not the case in Normal or Sport. The MME always uses AWD with a rear bias so it’s snappier in ECO mode.
2. The EV6 dampening is superior. Best way I can describe it is this…in Philly, on some roads, the yellow line has spaced lines in the ground which are appx 1 inch apart and are the width and depth of a pencil. So, when you drive over them, you feel and hear that you are on the center line.

The dampening on the EV6 is more effective than the MME. This may also have attributed to the perceived “deadened” feel of the EV6.

That said, I’m no F1 driver so, there may be one more qualified to speak to the “feel” of both cars. ??
Hope that helps…
