Massachusetts Tesla adapter second gen and Lectron adapter comparison

I just received Fords second Gen Tesla adapter. I did purchase the Lecton adapter when it first came out and it works perfectly. Here is a pic of the 2 adapters side by side and the gen 1 Ford adapter that’s been recalled.

The one on top is not a “Ford gen 1”. It is made by Tesla and supplied to multiple auto makers.

The ones below are both made by Lectron. The one on the right is sold by Lectron while the one on the left was co-engineered by Ford and Lectron and distributed by Ford.

Great point but, that is the 1st gen that Ford sent out and then recalled so, not sure what point you’re attempting to make. It is the first one Ford sent and the one they replaced.

I assume you're selling at least one of them since you posted in the marketplace?

My Gen 1 recalled Ford adapter looks just like yours, but the replacement I received also looks like the original, some of us got that, and others got the replacement you did.

My point is you are like one of the blind men describing an elephant. You have grabbed the tail and are trying to convince us the elephant is a rope.

There are many threads here on the various adapters, including the replacements. Here's a brief history:

Some people are still receiving what you call the 1st gen adapter. That adapter was engineered and built by Tesla and delivered to Ford for distribution.

When there was a short period that faulty adapters went out. Those were replaced. Up until recently, everyone received replacements that looked exactly like the first adapter. Now some people are reaching the Tesla-made adapter as replacements, others are getting the one Ford worked with Lectron to engineer. That one carries the Ford brand on it.

Some people who are now receiving their first adapter from Ford are getting the Tesla-made adapter. Others are receiving the Ford-branded adapter made by Lectron. The latter has not (yet) replaced the former. The two are different products that do the same job. Ford has never announced a new "generation" of adapters. I suspect Ford contracted with Tesla for a certain volume of adapters and that contract amount has not yet been reached.
