Went to try/test out my new A2Z V2 Adaptor.....couldn't get plug and charge to work. It has worked with Tesla previously (was at the same/newer Tesla Charger this evening). Seem to remember there is a setting to enable plug and charge but couldn't find in on the Ford Pass App. I have the credit card info in there with a check mark. Trying to figure out if this was a one off glitch or if a setting somehow got reset (and how to find that setting).

First thing I'd try is just turning Plug & Charge off and back on in the app. You'll find it on the Charging tab under Access & Permissions.

Thank you that was the setting I was looking for ....it was already selected ON so I cycled it on off. Weird thing is it wouldn't initially go back into the ON position the first three times I tried it....it just buffered and timed out in the OFF position. I'll have to try another day to see if it will actually plug and charge now.

That setting has had a delay for me in the past. Like a lot of features in the app. I would check it after a couple minutes to make sure it stuck.

Well this is annoying. I was having the same problem (P&C wasn't working for Tesla but it was fine with EA) so I turned it off. Now it won't turn back on for me either...

What was the error you got?

@pikepilot When I tried my A2Z Pro for the first time I didn't plug the NACS far enough in and the car didn't lock the charge-port and instead displayed "didn't recognize charger" before eventually showing "charger fault" (or similar verbiage).

I have routinely had issues on the first try to activate. I am not sure what is the right order of things but I will unplug-re-plug and try again to activate. If I am still having a problem, I try the Tesla app. so far I have eventually gotten them to work after a few tries.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but with the v2/Pro adapter the instructions have you plug the adapter into the car first, and then the Tesla connector into the adapter. 1 for 1 so far with it, although probably got a 70% failure rate with the old model which you can't plug into the car first so maybe there's something to it?

In every case where P&C failed on the original adapter though, unplugging and activating through the app worked so wasn't the end of the world. If I fast charged enough for that to matter I'd have a Tesla membership which means you have to activate through the app anyway.

No error message. The external charge indicator ring was blue, but not flashing (to show actively charging). Moved to another Tesla unit and changed up the adaptor plug in order. Same thing. Activated charging using the Public Charging App from inside the vehicle then it worked.

Yes, I believe I also activated it via the Public Charging app... which I suppose now that I am thinking about it shouldn't have been necessary for P&N, correct?

Yes, with Plug and charge (Tesla and EA) there should be no need to use the Public Charging App.
