So if you remember, vehicle was getting updated and they gave me a rental at Ford. That’s been finished for more than a week . todayI got a text message asking me to click on a link to verify the Ford loaner information. Working in computer security I don’t click on links from unknown numbers so I type the link into a URL and it was all the loan information. Wanted me to agree to it. Social Security number and drivers license, whatever information they needed. Called the dealership and asked them about this and they said this is all part of the dealerships being hacked. I know my Ford dealer my Mazda dealer the other Ford dealer they can’t even sell cars right now. I guess the ransom is up to $300 million so just , so you know your information if you bought a vehicle this year or recently is in the hands of these people.
All the dealers in my area can only repair vehicles. They can’t write orders or sell cars right now.
