I appreciate a sample size of 1 (me) is to be taken with a grain of salt, but I was at the Toronto Auto Show yesterday and wandered over to look at the Cybertruck. Took a few pics, then sat in the new "Highland" M3 with a friend of mine who has been on the fence for a while.

So Johnny Salesguys pops his head through the window of the car and asks if we want a "tour" -> showed us how to move the fans around, then showed us useless crap in the "Toy Box", and asked if we wanted to take one overnight for a test. My friend politely declined, and I I told him I had a Mach-E, which he spent the rest of our chat pandering. Nice. Told me it would smoke my Mach-E (sure) and how great the build kwality is....sure.

After we got out of the car and talked some more, he asked at least two more times if my buddy wanted to take one overnight - at one point actually pushing an iPad mini into my friend's chest with the form he needed to fill out.

So, could be one old-stool car salesman douchbag who is now at Tesla, but that's the first time I've *ever* had anyone at Tesla try and "sell" me a car.

Wondering if the Great Tesla (EV) Slowdown has anything to do with it...it was all just a bit weird for Tesla.

Do they get commission?

Sounds like they're trying to push the overnight usage to get adoption up.

I wonder....sure seemed like it. I'm going back on the week-end with my daughers (the apple doesn't fall from the tree) so maybe I'll ask

Nah, I was interested in a MYP back in 2022, and they were full court press via E_mail. Not what I'd call pushy, but about as close to it as they could be "Noone knows the incentive for next year, it could go away..." type stuff right before dropping the tag $15k lol!
