Turning off running daytime lights?

Is there a way to turn on the day time lights without going in to the settings? I usually like to have them on only on cloudy/foggy days so I leave them off otherwise.

I do believe if you turn your light switch OFF, they will not turn on.

It's a safety feature that's meant to be on all the time. Why would you turn them off? It's not like you can even notice them from inside the car.

Nope. The only way to have them turned off while driving is to disable them through the settings menu. Unless you're in a country where they're required by law and can't be disabled (like Canada).

Just put your headlights to “Auto”. I personally always turn my headlights “On”, because I want my tail lights illuminated for traffic behind me.

Bummer guess I'll leave them on in the settings and switch the lights to off everytime I don't want them.

@generaltso is correct, I was wrong.

From the user manual:

The daytime running lamps turn on when all of the following occur:

• You switch the system on.​

• You switch the vehicle on.​

• The transmission is not in park (P) for vehicles with automatic transmissions or you release the parking brake for vehicles with manual transmissions.​

• The lighting control is in the autolamps position.​

• The headlamps are off.​

Note: Other lighting control positions do not turn on the daytime running lamps.

Daytime running lamps are always on unless you switch on the headlamps or your vehicle is in park (P)
