Unable to lock car from outside the door.

Hello, new to this forum but desperate for answers. My 2024 MME X has been at the dealer for over a week. Took it in weeks ago for the recall and ever since I brought it home I noticed the locking feature was working intermittently. I’d press the lock feature on the door and I could see the light turn on, on the side mirror but isn’t locking. Out of 10 attempts maybe 4 work. I am being told it’s a programming error. No one seems to know how to fix. I’d appreciate any help I can get.

Disconnect the 12V battery for 10 minutes and see if that fixes it.

It seems like not all the dealers 100% clear out the codes after doing software updates, this can cause some glitches.

Are you sure it isn't locking? The only way you can tell is to take your keys/phone well away from the car, then try to open the door. My wife complained about the car not locking - turned out she had a key in her bag in the back seat and had forgotten it for a week.

I do miss that piece of mind I used to get from hearing the click of the lock on my former car. As others have mentioned, they really should show the lock/unlock status in the Ford app.

I’ve been told that It was shown briefly at one time in a beta version ages ago. I’ve also been told that the folks testing it couldn’t agree on how it should be displayed. One group apparently liked the way it was shown, with the status of the lock highlighted, so that the locked icon would be highlighted if the car was locked. The other group apparently wanted the icon available to be used to be highlighted. In the latter case, if the car was locked, the unlock icon was highlighted so you’d know which button would be active with a glance.

We are our own worst enemies.

@Ford Motor Company, This would be nice and is fairly easy to implement. Simply include the lock status when you poll for SOC and charging details.

If you have the mirrors set to auto fold they will fold when you lock it, which is good way to know it has locked.

It works fine in the Hyundai Blue Link app. I see no reason why it can't work with the Fordpass app.

I enabled the walk away option so it locks as I walk away and gives an audible honk to let me know that it’s locked. I also get a notification on my phone that it is now locked.

It would be nice if the app showed the status though, such as "Parked/Locked" or "Parked/Unlocked".
