Under hood LED - anyone installed?

Has anyone installed an under hood led light strip? No instructions included (of course.. china lol) just a black and red wire with a fuse.. where do I connect this thing??

You can try tapping the headlight harness. But when I did that for a project a couple years ago, the car detected the voltage drop and threw a fault. Plus the headlight only came on partially if at all.
You could go straight off the 12 volt battery but then they’d be on all the time, unless you add an inline switch. For anything that goes on and off with the lights you’re going to need some kind of relay getting a control signal from the headlights but not pulling enough juice to be noticed by the car.

You could certainly tap the fuse box. There are plenty that are only powered when the car is on. I was thinking, if you wanted something that only lit up when you had the headlights on. But yeah, wire through the firewall to a fuse that’s only active with power on is a good option.

Looks to be the way to go I’m guessing.. I know there’s a box in passenger side inside and one under the frunk but read to stay away from that one and you need to take off all the plastic to get to it ?
