Update after service seems to have changed preconditioning behavior.

I recently had the 12V failure on my car.
After service at the dealership where updates were made to the PCM,SOBDM,SOBDMC,BECM,ABS modules, the preconditioning battery behavior seems to have changed.
Under cold conditions, I would start the car remotely for 30 minutes to warm it up while plugged in.
Before I would enter the vehicle and the car SOC would indicate either 89 or 90% (90 being my max charge target) and off I would go.
This morning, after a 30 minute warm up (again plugged in), I entered the vehicle and the battery charge was at 86% so 4% was being used to condition the car.
Outside temps in both situations was very similar (-20 to -25C).
Is it possible that new updates are funneling power demand to the battery instead of the 12V?
What else could be resulting in this change?

My understanding is if the car is plugged in the interior conditioning is provided by the cable and not battery. Any chance that you have a smart charger and your started your conditioning outside the charge window which would then drain the HVB? Also did you check that all your settings remained the same as prior to the update? And finally, and I am not sure if this is accurate, but did the temp drop significantly after you charged to 90%? Just wondering if the SOC drops with temp.

I can eliminate the smart charger and the sudden temperature drop, but it is a good point about the settings maybe changing with the update. I will have a look.

The GOM range algorithm was likely updated, newer versions include better thermal compensation. The drop in % is likely because the pack is warming up which affects the available SoC. If you are charging with 120V instead of 240V you will also see a decrease as some pack energy has to be used for heating.

In those temps you should be using preconditioning rather than remote start to get the battery fully warmed up. I think you should update the title to reflect you are using remote start rather than preconditioning (they are different).

Also, technically remote starting is not pre-conditioning on this car. You need a departure time set up, tell it to warm or cool the car when you want and it will do it automatically, pulling power from shore power.

That is interesting that remote starting and preconditioning are not the same and that a plugged-in remote start would prioritize battery power over the wired power.
Any way of adding more than 2 departure times for preconditioning(morning, lunch, drive home)?

I'll test out a programmed pre-condition tomorrow morning and see what the % drop is.

Charger is on 240V.
