I was running the BlueCruise 1.3 update (est. 90 minutes) on my '22 GTPE when I had to unexpectedly leave. The car was displaying the option to pause the update, and so I clicked it, waited about 10 minutes, then it said it completed the update... According to its original estimate, it should have had 45 more minutes to perform the update.

Then, I start the car, and it comes up with this (Driver selectable suspension fault Service required):
Ford Mustang Mach-E Update wrecked my suspension 1721094939180-il

You may also notice that I only have about 1k miles of warranty coverage left.

The suspension feels ridiculously bouncy, so I try to set the drive mode to "Unbridled"... and get this (Drive Mode not available):
Ford Mustang Mach-E Update wrecked my suspension 1721095021709-in

I get to where I'm going, and get in the car, same messages on the screen, but now the suspension is tight, like in Unbridled mode. Make a pit stop, turn it off for about 5 minutes, then drive and the messages are still there and it is still in the Unbridled feeling mode, but won't let me actually select a mode, still.

Since I have 1k miles of warranty left, I want to get this figured out quickly. I suspect it is a computer issue related to the timing of the update - maybe a partial update happened? I don't know why it would think it is complete, then.

Anyone else had this issue where it didn't resolve itself after a couple power cycles? That seems common, but the condition persisting without physical damage seems rare.

I wouldn't think the car is in risk of physical damage to components.
But with software, and the unusual circumstances that your car experienced, I'm not sure anyone could predict what the solution is. Especially without having access to possible codes.

If you are fortunate, it might not take anything more than a reset of a couple of modules. (using something like Forscan)

Call Ford Customer Service and ask for the BEV team. Explain the situation, ask them for assistance in getting your car an appointment right away at a dealership and let them know that the car is still under warranty and that it should be covered.

Yikes, I would NOT have canceled an OTA in progress. I can almost guarantee they don't test that fully so that's very risky.

Interesting that nuked the active suspension calibration. Dampers are probably completely disabled so you're just getting the base damping rate all the time. Hopefully the dealer can reconfigure the VDM and any other modules that were messed up in the process. It's just software. Get a case started with the BEV team if you haven't yet.

And I HIGHLY suggest you just let the OTAs install at night when there's no chance you need to drive the car. Sometimes curiosity killed the cat.

While I agree that canceling an OTA wouldn't be recommended, Ford should not have offered that ability if it would leave things in an indeterminate state. (That it could even be done was a surprise to me...)

My car had a weird issue where this error message would come on randomly and the suspension feels like you are being thrown around. What most likely happened was that the VDM has a code because of other module’s code. In my case, it was lost communication with HV system or something like that. When I brought the car to the dealer, the tech told me that disconnecting the battery should bring the car back to normal (until that code is presence again). In my case I solved it by accident while disconnecting fuse 11 and 19: https://www.reddit.com/r/MachE/s/qsP9VKqcet

UPDATE: It is resolved (I think)

Since the update said it was "finished" so long before it was supposed to be, my assumption is that it kept updating modules when the car was off. This morning everything is back to normal and I now have lane change assist, so it looks like the update was successful. This makes sense with the wording of the "interrupt" prompt - "when it is at a safe point" and the update language "no updates available that require the car to be stationary" (or something similar)

ALL of the feedback here is very helpful and, hopefully, in the spirit of forums, this information is helpful to someone else who finds themselves in any of our collective or similar situations.

Just to point out - I was fully against pressing that button in the first place, and I wouldn't run an update if I thought I would have to leave, this was more of a freak occurrence - I agree with everything everyone said and will also advise - don't do this unless you don't have any other option.
