USB stick not recognised

I have a lot of music on usb in mp3 format, I plugged one in and it played, next day nothing, no USB showing, weeks later still nowt, anyone suggest what the prob could be ?

For me since I have Android Auto it likes to default to that and I have to click the upper icon and search for the "Music" button. Even then sometimes it goes to the lower app drawer and then I have to click resume for it to get it to play again. Slight anoyance for sure but maybe this will help as a fellow USB drive user.
